The Great Wall Marathon 2015

May 21 2015

With an injury in the thigh I managed to complete this year’s edition of The Great Wall Marathon in sharp trot. In fact, my finish time was my 8 best through the 16 years. Strange that powerwalk can match running. For a day the title as Mr. Great Wall became to Mr. Great Walk.

The Polar Circle Marathon 2001

May 20 2015

The dynamic trio’s third initiative   Having already sent us on three trips to the heat in China and one to the African Savannah, the organisers behind Adventure Marathon obviously thought it was time to cool us down a bit. Not long after we got home from The Karen Blixen Marathon in 2000, I received […]

24-timer Viborg 2001 (24 hours Viborg 2001)

May 12 2015

During journeys around the world, you get to meet a lot of people, and you make some good contacts, too. Once in a while you agree to meet again, but often nothing comes of it. Among the runners in The Karen Blixen Marathon in 2000 was a man called Rolf Bücking from Viborg. He had […]

North Sea Beach Marathon 2001

May 6 2015

My first actual marathon in Denmark turned out to be an odd sort of race. But this wasn’t so odd, in fact, because up to that time I had only run extreme marathons, apart from Berlin, of course. I can no longer remember how it came about that my Danish debut was on the west […]

The Great Wall Marathon 2001

April 15 2015

Third time lucky   For me, there was no doubt that I was going to join the third trip to the Wall. I felt that I needed to take revenge after the run with the blisters, and my promise to Søren Rasmussen was also etched in my mind. It is less clear to me now […]

The Karen Blixen Marathon 2000

April 8 2015

One would think it would take ages to recover from a run all the way round Bornholm, but there was no time for that because I had already signed up for a marathon in November long before I had even heard of the 100 kilometre run on the rocky island.   The organiser trio, […]

Ultra Marathon Bornholm 2000

April 1 2015

Having completed one marathon and two extreme marathons within a year, you might think there was nothing more to go for. I don’t know what I thought about that back in 2000. Now I know that there is no upper limit for what people can pull off in the marathon and triathlon. My performances in […]
