Karise Marathon

September 26 2026

My fourth marathon of the year was completed today in the most beautiful autumn weather, taking me through streets, wooded sections and peaceful countryside.

Karise Marathon in southeastern Zealand was a cannonball race consisting of six laps of just over seven kilometres. It was well attended, very well organised and offered excellent refreshments.

The event also celebrated three half-marathon milestones – two runners completing their 500th half marathon and one completing an incredible 1300th. To mark the occasion, we were treated to wonderful and festive cakes shaped as a woman and a man.

This was my second marathon in just 13 days, following a four-month break due to injury. Was it reckless? Probably. Was it wise? Probably not.

It was, however, a carefully considered strategy – and one that will probably be repeated before long. The important thing is to stay on track with my plan to qualify for membership of Klub 100 Marathon Danmark. Marathon number 100 is planned for 20 May 2028.
